Hi, I’m Anvita (or Anvi)!
Welcome to my Substack :) I made this space to act as my digital garden, where all my work, interests, and passions can live and thrive.
On this website, you’ll find a collection of my personal and academic essays, in which I attempt to parse through the sheer amount of information we are confronted with in everyday life.
The reason I started this page was because of this fantastic video by Anna Howard on digital gardens. In this day and age we consume SO much media, and I like the idea that we should create more than we consume. I also wanted a space for all my academic and creative products to live, so they weren’t strewn across multiple drives and databases.
If you want to know more about me, feel free to take a look at my personal statement here!

I grew up in Ottawa, Canada as the daughter of two Indian immigrants who work in software engineering. My childhood was full of curiosity, creativity, and a love for nature. I’ve always been fascinated by consciousness and human history. I went to school to study psychology, behaviour, and neuroscience, with a specialization in mental health. I value introspection, self-reflection, and empathy.
